Woman arrested for drunk driving following rollover crash

Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a serious offense in Tennessee. If convicted, there are a number of consequences that can occur, including fines, loss of license and/or time in jail. An accident involving suspected drunk driving recently occurred in Springfield, a town north of Nashville in Middle Tennessee.

According to Springfield Police officials, at approximately 11 p.m. on March 30, a car driven by a woman left the road, then hit a post and overturned. The vehicle landed on its roof just a few feet from another car, but no other nearby property was damaged, according to reports. The driver was not seriously injured in the rollover crash. She was able to get out of the vehicle on her own and apparently refused medical treatment. No injuries were reported by the Springfield Police, Springfield Fire Department or Robertson County EMS responders.

Police purportedly took the woman into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence. She was transported to a nearby hospital for a blood draw. The woman was followed by transport when she was taken to the Robertson County Detention Facility.
