Alleged domestic violence stems from man not paying for abortion

A 30-year-old woman is in jail for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend. The alleged episode of domestic violence in Tennessee took place when the man said he refused to give his girlfriend money to have an abortion. He told cops when he told the woman he wouldn't foot the bill to terminate the pregnancy, she physically lashed out at him.

The man said the accused became irate when he didn't fork over the $300 the abortion would have cost. He went on to tell police that he tried to leave his residence, but the woman got into his vehicle and would not get out. Instead of walking away, the man got into the car anyway and began to drive. That is when he alleges his girlfriend began to hit him in the head.

The guy's girlfriend apparently became so incensed that she supposedly tore the rear view mirror from the windshield. The man stopped at a nearby fire station to get some help. The woman was arrested and charged with domestic assault causing bodily harm.

While no Tennessee attorney can ensure that a domestic violence charge will be dismissed or reduced, following a lawyer's advice may be able to increase a client's chances of having charges resolved in a satisfactory manner.
