Multiple law enforcement agencies often work together to uncover drug operations throughout the state of Tennessee. Local and state agencies partner to crack down on all aspects of drug activities, including usage, manufacturing or sale of illegal substances. Several people are facing drug charges following a recent investigation conducted by several agencies.
The Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation worked with officials from Columbia and Maury County to uncover an alleged drug operation. Arrests were made related to the supposed purchase of several controlled drugs, including crack cocaine and heroin. Other drugs discovered were methamphetamine, alprazolam and oxycodone. Six people, ranging in age from 19 to 43 years old, were arrested on various charges and are being held in the Maury County jail. They are being held on bonds of $10,000 to $75,000.
An assistant director of TBI's Drug Investigation Division stated that the agencies were concerned about all levels of a drug operation. Whether someone was supplying products to dealers or selling them on a street, officers were interested in finding them. An increased urgency to uncover these operations is prevalent due to Tennessee's drug epidemic.
